PATAGONIA VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT

READY TO RESPOND

DIAL 911

WHAT WE DO

The members of the PVFD perform countless tasks on a daily basis to ensure the safety of the residents of Hermitage and all who may travel through the city. Below are a few examples:

FIRE FIGHTING/RESCUE CALLS

This is what people think of when they hear the words fire department. The members of PVFD regularly train with the Hermitage Volunteer fire department and surrounding departments, so they are ready to respond to any emergency that may arise. In this photo members of the PVFD are getting their air pack bottles changed after exiting the interior of a working industrial fire.

TRAINING

Members of the PVFD often give up weekends and evenings to attend and participate in local training and Pa state certified fire rescue training. In this photo one of our members is practicing hose line advancement through a second story window.

MUTUAL AID

The members of the PVFD are called on to respond to neighboring communities. We are happy to be able to assist in anything that is asked of us. This photo is engine 86 placed in downtown Sharon Pa assisting in a commercial structure fire.

COMMUNITY EDUCATION/SUPPORT

The members of the PVFD often can be seen in the community performing fire safety/awareness programs. This photo is an example of the PVFD conducting a educational course for the summer recreation program at Buhl Farm Park.
